![]() ![]() TIDAL Connect will be available for Edge NQ, CXN (V2), CXN (V1), CXR120/200, 851N and StreamMagic 6 V2. We are currently working on a soon-to-be-available firmware update that will enable users to stream their favourite tracks at the touch of a button within the TIDAL app. Then I found out that tidal connect was coming through a firmware update this year and was led to believe through pr that tidal connect could allow you to stream master quality music straight to your streamer. UPDATE from Cambridge Audio: “TIDAL’s new Connect feature is coming to Cambridge Audio’s range of network players. The new firmware is Version 3. UPDATE from Naim: “We’ll be introducing TIDAL Connect support in 2021 via a free firmware upgrade to our latest generation of streaming products (Mu-so and Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation Uniti Atom, Star and Nova ND 5 XS2, NDX 2, ND 555).” We await further advice from these manufacturers and more. Hoping for an admin error on Tidal’s part, I updated my Cambridge CXN (V2) and Naim Uniti Atom to their latest respective firmwares…but no dice: neither appear inside the Tidal app as an available Tidal Connect device. However, in addition to KEF, Bluesound, NAD, Monitor Audio and DALI, Tidal’s list of supported devices, filtered by Tidal Connect, includes Naim and Cambridge whilst simultaneously pointing us at each manufacturer’s own streaming app: Cambridge’s Stream Magic and Naim’s Naim. Hello DALI active loudspeakers, wassup NAD M33 and M10 super-integrateds and how’s it going Monitor Audio IMS-4? I’ve confirmed with my own eyes and ears that Tidal Connect works with the KEF LS50 Wireless II and the Bluesound Node 2i, the latter suggesting that any BluOS-controllable device running up-to-date firmware should be Tidal Connectable. ![]() Which streaming devices currently support Tidal Connect? Worth noting that I have had zero issues since update with my ND 555 and TIDAL - either within the App or using TIDAL Connect. MacOS and Windows users are also invited to the Tidal Connect party. If you are, trying logging in and out of TIDAL via the Naim App, and powering down your phone/tablet and back up again when all changes were made. “One of”? Oh – does it work with Tidal’s desktop apps? No more manufacturer-coded streaming apps, no more Roon, no more Plex and no more Audirvana. It gives us something that Spotify Connect currently does not: the ability to stream CD-quality and hi-res content – in addition to its less-often discussed lossy tier – from the comfort of our couch and without relying on third-party integrations. Neither is supported by Google’s Chromecast. Two reasons: 1) Gapless playback 2) MQA Masters. Why would I use Tidal Connect instead of Chromecast? Unlike Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth, Tidal Connect streams do not travel through the smartphone or tablet on their way to the paired network streamer. Click to pair - the music stream will be moved from the smartphone to the paired device. Tidal Connect devices appear alongside Chromecast devices. TIDAL Connect allows you to explore all the rich features of the TIDAL App, and stream your choices in superb quality direct to your Naim player or system. Pull up the Tidal app, push play on some music and click the ‘available devices’ button in the bottom left. Naim Audio is delighted to introduce yet more listening options for its award-winning family of music-streaming players and systems, with a free software update enabling TIDAL Connect. So, if the NDS has to be restarted every time to fix the problem where does the issue probably lie? No other devices that I use on the network have an issue, including a cheap little JBL that I stream Tidal to.Norwegian streaming service Tidal has announced that its Tidal Connect programme has jumped the Sonos fence and will eventually appear on selected streaming devices from KEF, Lyngdorf, Bluesound, NAD, DALI, Monitor Audio, Cambridge Audio and, eventually, Naim.Įssentially, it’s like Spotify Connect - but for Tidal. I’ve just got a brand new ipad with the latest ios, everything has been completely shutdown and restarted with NDS reset. The Firmware 4. I’ve just been living with it but since the firmware update the problem is happening all the time - almost every time I go to listen, certainly every 1-2 days. The inability to connect was pretty random, about once every week to 2 weeks and seemed to happen more frequently the less I listened ie. ![]() To cut to the case, the only way to get things working again is switching off/on the NDS/power supply - all sorted, every time. Issues started about a year ago - would try to play an album on Naim app - no response apart from the ‘number of tracks’ flashing on to the screen as though things were going to happen but then no go. I’m just about ready to put a sledgehammer through it. Would be grateful for some help regarding connectivity issues I’m having with my NDS, worse since the 4.8 firmware update.
